Our Career Center offers comprehensive services to Sacramento area employers looking to hire local talent to fill positions within your organization. The Career Center fosters partnerships with community organizations and businesses to provide hands-on work experience for students and alumni.
Internships offer students experiential learning for employment opportunities that complement their academic programs and align with goals and intended career outcomes. Employers are welcome to register on Career Connection, the online job board which lists jobs (part-time, full-time, and internships) in the Sacramento region. The Career Center also invites employers to be a part of the On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) program that provides spacious interview rooms and coordination in setting up your interview schedule with Sac State students. The Career Center serves hundreds of employers each academic year through our on-line job board, on-campus recruitment, informational sessions, and career fairs. We welcome you to reach out to the Career Center and learn how they can help you meet your recruiting needs.
We have updated our system for you and the first step is easy. Go to http://www.csus.edu/careercenter/interninfo/ and fill out the employer registration form which will give you access to our online internship tool kit for employers. It is a one page short form but please be sure to indicate the types of internships you are looking for at the bottom half of the form. Our employer coordinator will then contact you directly.
The Career Center will be happy to help you develop an internship program, provide tools, and answer questions that employers often have when implementing an internship program within their organization.
Keep my contact information handy should you have any trouble or need a more urgent response.
Additionally, Sac State has a unique student employment services program called – the CA Intern Network. For more than 30 years, this program has offered part-time, temporary employment opportunities for students, from entry level to technical positions, within cities, counties, state agencies and recently – private sector companies, much like a temp agency. The program is operated by University Enterprises, Inc., a nonprofit, tax-exempt auxiliary organization serving California State University, Sacramento.
The CA Intern Network, simplifies the process of creating and managing paid student intern positions for employers by providing all the traditional human resource & payroll functions, including but not limited to: targeted recruiting, employee orientation, risk management and they act as the employer of record, assuming liability for workers’ compensation, customized invoicing, record retention, and employment verification/reference. You get to interview and select the student of choice, much like a traditional hire, set their schedule, pay rate and manage their work.
