Abel
and Jorge keeping the community clean. |
Two crew members in the bright blue Power Inn Alliance truck diligently work four days a week removing trash and refuse, including noncompliance signs, to keep the area neat and attractive. Over the years, many of the roads that were once remote have become a dumping ground for refuse and junk. The Alliance spends over $90,000 a year just to reduce litter and trash, keeping with the theory of taking care of the little things prevents bigger problems from escalating.
In three months alone, the Alliance clean-up crew collected and disposed of:
-
10.5 tons of dirt
-
1,035 bags of
litter
-
35 tires
-
13 couches
-
10 mattresses
-
31 pallets
-
13 large car parts
-
Enough shopping
carts to start a medium-sized grocery store
-
Four brand new
walkers with tags still attached
- Plus
other assorted refuse and junk
Many Alliance members support Clean Up and Beautification efforts through
Adopt-A-Road signs seen throughout the area.
